Taurus Molecular Cloud 1

(TMC-1)
(nearby star-forming region)

The Taurus Molecular Cloud 1 (TMC-1) is a nearby Star-Forming Region (or Dense Core) which is in the constellation Taurus and is part of the Taurus-Auriga Complex. Being near, it is of interest for study. Taurus Molecular Cloud 2 (TMC-2) is another such region of interest within the complex, but there are many.

Characteristics:

It is large enough in the sky that these coordinates are approximate.

I haven't convinced myself I've found consistent associations with Catalogs, but I've seen this:

TMC-1 LDN 1534
TMC-2 LDN 1529 Barnard 18
