WASP-43b
(hot Jupiter with especially small orbit)
WASP-43b is a hot Jupiter
discovered by SuperWASP in 2011, with a very small
orbit and orbital period, even for a hot Jupiter.
Its host star, WASP-43 is a K-type star.
The planet's atmosphere has been studied, its
small orbit, high temperature, transit and secondary eclipse
making it ideal for this.
Observation and analysis has yielded determinations of
some atmospheric constituents, including water vapor.
Characteristics:
(exoplanet,transit method,gas giant)
