OGLE-2005-BLG-390Lb

OGLE-2005-BLG-390Lb a super-Earth discovered through gravitational microlensing by the Danish 1.54-m telescope at La Silla Observatory. The planet's host star is likely an M dwarf and there is some chance the planet is a rocky planet. Characteristics:

• Host star: OGLE-2005-BLG-390L.
• Discovery: by gravitational microlensing in 2006.
• 6600 pc - distance.
• 2-4 AU - semi-major axis.
• 3500 days - orbital period.
• 5.5 - Earth masses.
• 50 K - temperature.

Each of these determinations has a substantial uncertainty: detection of microlensing can fairly reliably indicate an extra-solar planet yet provide very limited data on the system.
