The Survey for Ionization in Neutral Gas Galaxies

(SINGG)
(survey of HI in galaxies found through the H-alpha line)

The The Survey for Ionization in Neutral Gas Galaxies (SINGG) was an astronomical survey of 468 galaxies selected from HIPASS, recording H-alpha and R band (the latter for subtraction) to detect and measure the presence of HI regions and to help locate their associated HII regions and the implied star formation.

The Survey of Ultraviolet Emission in Neutral-Gas Galaxies (SUNGG) was a followup survey observing selected SINGG galaxies in ultraviolet, using the Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX).
