The Survey for Ionization in Neutral Gas Galaxies

(SINGG)
(survey of H-alpha in galaxies found through the HI line)

The The Survey for Ionization in Neutral Gas Galaxies (SINGG) was an astronomical survey of 468 galaxies selected from HIPASS, recording H-alpha and R band (the latter for subtraction) to detect and measure the presence of HII regions.

The Survey of Ultraviolet Emission in Neutral-Gas Galaxies (SUNGG) was a followup survey observing selected SINGG galaxies in ultraviolet, using the Galaxy Evolution Explorer (GALEX).
