Third Cambridge Catalogue of Radio Sources
(3C)
(1959 catalog of northern hemisphere 159-MHz sources)
The Third Cambridge Catalog of Radio Sources (3C),
published in 1959, includes northern hemisphere (and some southern
hemisphere) radio sources detected by
the Cambridge Interferometer radio telescope at 159 MHz.
Updates 3CR and 3CRR (the latter based on 178 MHz observations)
use compatible numbering and their sources are also commonly cited with
the 3C prefix.
