TRAPPIST

(Transiting Planets and Planetesimals Small Telescope)
(ground-based automatic transiting planet finding telescope)

The TRAPPIST telescope (transiting planets and Planetesimals Small Telescope) is a Belgian robotic telescope at La Silla Observatory in Chile. It has a .6m telescope and is installed in the housing of the retired Swiss T70 Telescope. It searches for and observes extra-solar planet transits, as well as solar system planetesimals.

Among its discoveries are exoplanets around TRAPPIST-1 including one that appears to be in its habitable zone.
