WINERED

(Warm Infrared Echelle Spectrograph)
(near-infrared non-cryogenic spectrograph)

WINERED (for Warm Infrared Echelle Spectrograph) is a near infrared spectrograph on the Magellan Telescopes' Clay Telescope (Las Campanas Observatory, LCO), having previously been used on the Araki Telescope at Koyama Astronomical Observatory (KAO) and the New Technology Telescope (NTT) at the La Silla Observatory (LSO). WINERED has a cryogenically-cooled camera, but non-cooled ("warm") optics including an echelle grating with spectral resolution of 28,000 and an immersion grating with a resolution of 100,000.
